Most of my readers probably don’t know this but I actually started a blog about 3 years ago. It was around the time that Instagram first came out and I thought the app’s main purpose was for fashion! I started posting looks on Instagram completely for fun not knowing what the app would turn into today. After around only 2 months of doing it, I stopped. I felt like my “friends” at the time were judging me and I seemed to care more about what they thought of it rather than how much I enjoyed doing it. As every fashionista knows, in order to be a successful blogger it takes a lot of time to build up a following. One of my biggest regrets is not sticking with blogging when I first started.
After blogging for a little less than a year now, I’ve realized that the main purpose of anyone’s style blog should really be to share outfit inspiration that is unique to them. With so many bloggers out there it’s easy for everyone to start to look the same. I’ve found that my best posts have been the outfits that felt true to me. The more confidence I gain, the more I feel comfortable being myself and not worrying about what other people think. That is why I believe personal style is all about feeling confident wearing whatever it is you like best. Whenever my girlfriends ask me for my opinion while were shopping my usual response is “who cares what I think, if you like it that’s all that matters!”
I think this look demonstrates how I love mixing and matching different style aesthetics and details. I don’t take fashion too seriously which is why I like wearing more casual looks that are still trend right and interesting. When I found these shorts at H&M I instantly thought to myself, ugh these are so me! I currently love anything with tassels. Because I usually don’t like to wear too much black in the summer I paired these shorts with a white denim jacket and a fun pair of pink mirrored glasses. Short shorts usually call for flat sandals. You will very rarely see me walking around NYC in anything but flat shoes. I’ve bought around 5 different types of lace up sandals this summer, but hay at least my taste is consistent! Thanks for reading!
